Terms of service
The terms on which we quote, supply, install and service rooftop solar — and the terms on which you use this website.
Who these terms are between
These terms govern your use of bluesrenewables.com and any quotation, supply, installation or service agreement with Blues Renewables, a business registered as an MSME under Udyam Registration Number UDYAM-TN-02-0495778, at 103 Velachery Main Road, Guindy, Chennai 600032, Tamil Nadu, India (“Blues Renewables”, “we”, “us”).
By using this site, requesting a quotation or accepting one, you agree to these terms. If a signed work order or contract with us says something different, that document prevails over this page.
Information on this site is indicative
Prices, system sizes, generation figures, subsidy amounts, savings and payback periods published on this site are estimates prepared on stated assumptions. They are not an offer, a quotation, or a guarantee of any outcome.
Our calculators run in your browser on the numbers you enter. Their output is a planning aid, not an engineering result. Nothing on this site should be relied upon as a substitute for a site survey.
What is binding
Only a written quotation issued by Blues Renewables, naming the components, capacity, scope and price, and within its stated validity period, is capable of being accepted. Verbal indications and website figures are not.
Quotations, prices and payment
- Quotations are valid for the period stated on them, normally 15 days, because module, inverter and structure prices move.
- Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes and statutory levies unless the quotation states otherwise, charged at the rate in force on the invoice date.
- Payment terms, milestones and any advance are as set out on the quotation or work order.
- A quotation covers only the scope written on it. Civil work, roof waterproofing, structural strengthening, load enhancement fees, statutory charges, meter charges and long cable runs beyond the surveyed route are chargeable extras unless the quotation includes them.
- Prices may be revised before acceptance, or where the scope changes after survey — for example a different roof type, an extended cable run, or a change in system size at your request.
Subsidy and approvals assistance
For eligible residential projects we prepare and file the PM Surya Ghar application and the TANGEDCO net metering application on your behalf, and follow them through feasibility, inspection and meter fitting, at no separate charge.
Sanction, the subsidy amount and the timing of disbursal are decisions of MNRE, the National Portal and the distribution licensee. They are outside our control. We do not guarantee that a subsidy will be approved, that a particular amount will be paid, or that it will be paid within a particular time.
- Eligibility depends on facts you supply and control: the name on the service connection, ownership documentation, the bank account name, and prior claims against the same connection.
- Where a name transfer, load enhancement or documentation correction is required, that is your responsibility, and project timelines extend accordingly.
- Where an application is rejected for a reason within our control, we correct and refile at no charge.
What we need from you
- Safe access to the roof, the meter board and the cable route during working hours.
- Water and a power point for installation.
- Accurate information: consumer number, sanctioned load, connection name and ownership documents.
- Written consent from the owner or association where you are not the sole owner of the roof.
- A structurally sound roof. We do not assume responsibility for the condition of an existing structure, and where our survey identifies that a roof cannot safely carry the system, we will say so and decline the work.
Performance, warranties and service
Generation depends on irradiance, ambient temperature, shading, soiling, grid availability and cleaning — several of which are seasonal and none of which is ours to control. Design figures are engineering estimates, not guaranteed output.
- Modules, inverters and batteries carry the manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. We register these in your name at commissioning and raise claims on your behalf.
- Our own workmanship warranty covers structure, cabling, earthing and installation, for the period stated on your work order.
- Warranties do not cover damage from cyclone, flood, lightning, fire, theft, vandalism, animal or rodent damage, unauthorised modification, or work carried out on the system by a third party.
- Free service visits, if included, are stated on the work order. Beyond that, service is chargeable at our published rates.
Cancellation, delay and force majeure
Cancellation after acceptance is subject to the terms on your work order. Where components have been procured or fabricated to your specification, costs already incurred are recoverable.
We are not liable for delay or non-performance caused by events beyond reasonable control: government or licensee delay, grid unavailability, cyclone or flooding, transport disruption, supply shortage, strike, or changes in law or subsidy rules.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with a project is limited to the contract value of that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of savings, loss of generation revenue, business interruption, or loss of expected subsidy.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Intellectual property and site use
The text, layout, calculators, diagrams and photographs on this site are owned by Blues Renewables. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use. You may not republish, scrape, resell or reproduce substantial parts of this site, or use it to train a commercial model, without written permission.
You may not use this site to transmit malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or place automated load on it beyond normal reading.
Third-party links
We link to government portals, regulators and manufacturer documentation so that you can verify what we publish. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them or out of any work we carry out.
Before litigation, we ask that you raise the matter with us in writing at info@bluesrenewables.com so that it can be resolved directly. Most things can be.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date shown above. Changes do not apply retrospectively to a project already contracted, which continues on the terms accepted at the time.
